SPOTLIGHT

Meet Kim Ganzer-Wiley

I am a cross country mountain biker and I have been a wellness patient of Dr. Steve’s for 2 years coming in once a week for my chiropractic adjustment. I was seeing another chiropractor but decided to switch for two reasons. First, a fellow biker, Neil Adams, broke his pelvis in a biking accident and went to see Dr. Steve. Neil talked about the cold laser and how it regenerates bones and tissue hastening his healing process. I was amazed to see him on his bike after 5 weeks! After that, I had to experience the laser myself. Secondly, I like the AWC approach to healing and wellness. They address the total person in body, mind, heart and spirit. I don’t have to go to many different places to get my needs met; I can get everything in one place! I can have spa services (different massages or energy work to suit my changing needs, body wraps and footbaths for detoxification, holistic facials, even removing my wrinkles with cold laser) and chiropractic services (adjustments, acupuncture, AK, nutritional testing, supplements) in the same visit.

I have been competing in the “Chequamegon 40” races for the last seven years; the past two have been my best and I attribute that to Dr. Steve. In 2005, I finished 3:34 minutes faster, placed 81st out of 157 women and 9th in my age group. In 2006, there were 1700 bikers, 139 were women. I placed 94th out of 139 and 13th in my age group of 45-50. After a race like this, I usually feel like a “train wreck”, however, Dr. Steve’s adjustments coupled with laser and massage keeps me going with minimal discomfort. I’m confident that Dr. Steve will keep active even in my 90’s!

I love the chiropractic spa concept! I walk in and I am already soothed. I sit on a luxurious massage chair and let the stressors of the day roll off my body. I am served a drink that is loaded with vitamins and minerals and I feel nurtured. I have never been treated this way in any of the chiropractic offices I have been to in my lifetime. I highly recommend Dr. Steve and the AWC to anyone who wants to live a healthy and active lifestyle regardless of age!

FDA Calls for Warnings on Common Pain Drugs

Non-prescription pain relievers used by millions of Americans need stronger health warnings regarding liver damage and stomach bleeding according to the Food and Drug Administration. The drugs include aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen and will affect such household brands as Motrin, Advil, Aleve and Tylenol. USA Today December 20, 2006
It’s about time the FDA took the problem of common pain drugs seriously. People swallow these things like candy and they don't pay attention to the number of pills they're taking. Maybe people would take this more seriously if there was a little “Life Clock” on your forehead, and every time you took a pill it lopped another 60 minutes off of your life. Or better yet, what if people realized they were simply covering up symptoms while their health continued to decline?
